Since the update, Alexa is either not hearing me so well, unless I speak louder, or totally mishearing what Im saying - things she was answering perfectly well before. I wonder if the voice learning function has been reset with the update?

I think Amazon has started to skimp on the voice-recognition in their service.
Everyone knows that Alexa voice recognition takes a bit of processing, which is fed back to AWS servers to be fulfilled/audited. I think someone in Amazon decided to skimp on the electric bills that drive the Echo voice-recognition. It's noticible.
The same way razor companies use cheaper steel blades or phone companies start rolling out breaking patches, I suspect the honeymoon is over.
I'm not sure how to quantify it. Maybe play a recording against the mic under controlled conditions and gauge the ability to comprehend over next few weeks.
At least they don't explode. Yet.
