I’ve had an August SmartLock for several months now, but I’ve been too cheap to spring for the August Connect WiFi Bridge ($62) to make it work with Amazon. To date I’ve had it connected to my AppleTV via HomeKit and it does 90% of what I’ve wanted it to do. But on Feb. 1st I’m moving from an apartment to a house I’m buying and as part of that move I’m going to have to make the decision to fully commit to the Echo or going with HomeKit.
One of the things that has held me back from buying a Connect is the number of negative reviews I see for it. But many (most?) of those were prior to a recent firmware update. So if you have a lock with the Connect bridge I’d be very interested in hearing your experience.
