Title: Echo Plus and GE Z-Wave Plus Fan Control
Post by: heyoh on December 23, 2017, 04:23:45 pm
Hi,
I just installed a the following GE Z-Wave device to control a celing fan:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XTKQTTV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9ASpAbWKXPTCD

It it working fine manually as a single switch but for whatever ever I am unable to get my Echo Plus to detect the switch.  I've attempted all the recommended troubleshooting steps - reset to factory default, pulled in and the air gap switch.

I'm hoping I'm just overlooking something but.no matter what I try I am unable to detect the switch.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Echo plus hub runs on ZigBee not zwave. So, it won't work due to incompatibility, I suppose. Next time buy a ZigBee device.

Asianrocker is correct. You will either need a z-wave gateway (hub) to have Alexa control the switch, or return it and look for another solution.
