Title: Alexa cant control LightwaveRF with BT router
Post by: tomhv9 on January 14, 2017, 02:27:59 am
So I have bought a few lightwaverf devices (a double light switch, plug socket and single light switch). I have an android phone and downloaded the lightwaverf app and all the devices work. Alexa also detects all of the devices and when I ask her to turn the lights off she says ok but it doesn't do anything. its like she is sending the signal out but it's not getting through. I think it is something to do with the router but port forwarding the lightwaverf link hasn't worked

any suggestions?

Yes, BT router... it doesn't work, add it to the list of things they are trying to get to work for that router, might be a while... I imagine same problem as other items, something to do with the Parental Control feature on the BT router, they are aware, I'm surprised you managed to connect in the first place...

Cheers

I don't have Lightwave, but I have KASA and D-Link, and I've added the Skills, Linked them to my KASA and D-Link Cloud accounts for permissions, and they work a treat.

I believe all Alexa does it talk to the Cloud, and Vendor Cloud talks back....

is this similar to your Lightwave setup?

I use LightwaveRF with a BT router without any issues
