Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: Echo Show Device

If your device is registered to your Amazon account, just look in the Devices section of your account: https://www.amazon.com/hz/mycd/digital-console/alldevices

Otherwise, see which one looks like your device: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GHRYQ6GHE4A5TUD2
Great thank you

Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: Managing Alexa with desktop APP

Sorry to say it, but it looks like Amazon is making things worse.  I just visited their Alexa site and there is a banner that reads:

The site address I visited was alexa.amazon.com

"This website does not currently support all Amazon devices and Alexa features, and functionality will continue to be reduced over time. For full functionality, please download the latest version of the Alexa app. Contact us if you have any questions."

Amazon Echo Discussion / Managing Alexa with desktop APP
« Last post by Msradell on January 11, 2023, 10:45:13 pm »
Has anyone found a way to manage everything on your Alexa without using a smart phone?  I'm disabled and you speech recognition software to run my computer.  Unfortunately, I have taken away some of the functionality from the desktop and browser apps so I no longer can control everything.  I can no longer do something such as changing night Apple Music Login etc.  It's extremely frustrating to put it mildly.

I got my three kids Dots for Xmas, and since they're all minors, they can't have each on their own Amazon accounts. So I'm forced to have them all on my (adult) account. They all have their own Tidal accounts for keeping their own musical tastes individualized, but I can't figure out how to make that work with Dot setup. It seems like the only option is to add my Tidal user to all three of them (since they're automatically enabled with Tidal once I've done it with the first).

They each have their own voice recognition set up on their respective devices.

Thanks for your attention and advice.

One thought might be to Clear History and Website date in Safari settings. Have you tried logging out and logging back into the Amazon site to check that your login details are still valid? One final thought might be to create an iCloud backup and restore your iPhone from that and try again.

Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: Amazon Ring Car Cam

I looked at it when I first read about it the other day.  I think if I get a car cam, I will save about 150 bucks and get one from Walmart.   I am not too concerned about security.

Amazon Echo Discussion / Amazon Ring Car Cam

I wonder why Amazon didn't reveal this during their yearly product announcements in September.
Anyway, the Ring Car Cam is ready for pre-order. --> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LZFPQNV
It's $199.99 (will be $249.99 after 1/31/2023). Cloud services is $60/year.

It appears to be what Ring door bell does. That is, it records when it detects motion. Since it's hooked up to the ODB II port it is powered all the time, regardless of whether your car is running or not. It does not appear to be a dashcam as far as I can tell. The product description does not say anything about recording accidents or other events while driving unless you ask it to record. And you when you ask it to record, it only records for the next 20 minutes. So in a way, this is exactly like the Ring doorbell. It does not record continuously.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max running ios 16.2 and canít install the Alexa app successfully. When booting the app up, the first popup window asks me to allow Alexa access to bluetooth, which I do, then the next popup window asks me to login to my Amazon account and then displays an ďErrorĒ window and thatís as far as I can get. Iíve removed the app, rebooted the modem and iPhone, reinstalled the app with absolutely no luck. Amazon customer support canít solve the problem. Anyone know whatís going on?
