Title: Remote communication through Alexa
Post by: Jez on March 23, 2017, 08:54:26 am
Just posted on another post and thought I could expand on this for others:

Scenario:
Mum lives 10 miles away, quite deaf, Dads normally in the garden or tinkering in the garage.

Dad asks 'Dot' in garage 'Alexa ... are you ready for some lunch'
Mum see's Alexa response on old mobile phone and replies through Dot in bedroom 'Alexa ... yes about 10 minutes'
Daughter sharing Alexa account with parents, Also sees messages (10 miles away) on old mobile phone from her own home and says 'Alexa .... hope to join you as well in 20 minutes'
Mum and Dad then both see the message and that it was heard from 'Daughters - Echo'.

Requirements:
Anything with a browser can receive what Alexa heard.
A PC running an application that serves all mobile devices. This must be running on a Windows PC at each address and share the same Alexa account

Below is an image of an old Apple Touch (1st generation - Cheap) with the last thing that Alexa heard along with which device heard it. No SKILL's are involved in any of this. Find out more http://www.addtopad.com (http://www.addtopad.com)

I really want to "share" the things I listen to with the other Echos (dots) in my house, is there a way to do this without a PC?

Dot 'Broadcasting' is coming but that's still audio only. The thinking here was a visual solution for those hard-of-hearing. Are you thinking more towards 'Dot' intercom? or 'Dot' music share?
