Title: How switch off all smartplugs in the house with one command?
Post by: xFlip on December 02, 2020, 11:36:08 am
I have several Echo smartplugs in different rooms.

I would like to issue a single command to say switch them all off.  Is this possible?

All I can see in the Alexa app is something to do with a room group but I don't allocate my smartplugs to rooms in the settings.

Can anyone kindly advise.

Try this:
Create a new routine and give it a name. Then “Alexa, turn off all plugs”
Add action > Smart Home
Then select All Devices. Select each device individually to Power Off.
Save.

you can also check the smartplugs own app to see if you can create a scene there to turn them all off.  Then you may be able to discover the scene with alexa and use it.

Thank you.

I got that to work but it took a bit of time. Alexa is not really user-friendly enough.

Glad to hear it worked.

If you want an easier way, open the device dashboard on a fire tablet. There is an all plugs on/off button at the top of the screen.
