Title: Alexa not discovering Harmony devices
Post by: gh227 on April 09, 2019, 09:43:48 am
Here is my setup -

Harmony Hub & Elite remote
LG TV1 (2016)
LG TV2 (2018)
Verizon set up box (VMS 4100)

The hub and alexa are on 2.4 GHz on a Asus router. I have added activities and favorites on TV1 and enabled Blue Harmony skill on Alexa. Upon linking on Alexa and discovery, all the activities and favorites are available under scenes under Alexa and working properly though Harmony and Echo voice control. However I don't see the above 3 devices on Alexa and therefore unable to control them individually (power, volume etc.). I have tried unlinking and linking with Alexa, resetting hub. But nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

I'm presuming the harmony hub is your first harmony remote, right?

Logitech Harmony doesn't work with 'devices', it works with 'activities', so why would you expect your devices to show up in alexa?
You really need to stop thinking about controlling your devices individually, and create activities for thing you want to do, like Watch TV, Watch Movie, etc. And use volume control for THAT activity.
Do not use the 'devices' tab in the app to control volume and such, that tab is only meant for adding/deleting devices and for troubleshooting really. When you buy a Harmony remote, ANY Harmony remote, you need to let go of that way of thinking. Any harmony remote that doesn't have the hub wouldn't even let you, at all.
