Title: Adding my Ecobee + thermostat to a echo speaker group

I have an Echo Plus, Echo, Dot, and an Echo Show (all 2nd gen).  They are connected via an Orbi mesh network.  I am trying to add an Ecobee Plus thermostat to a group named “everywhere” that includes all my Echo devices so I can play music on all.  The Echo app doesn’t seem to want to list the thermostat as addable to the group.  It has the thermostat in a separate group named “upstairs thermostat”.  I could probably add all my Echo devices to that group but I don’t want to have to say, “Alexa, play blank on the upstairs thermostat group” to get music throughout my house.  Any suggestions?
