Post by: asharma1 on October 06, 2017, 10:08:20 am
Hi all

I am looking to integrate xiaomi xiaofang IP camera with echo so that i can tell it when to turn on and off.
Unfortunately i don't know where to start, can any one suggest any reference if any one has tried and implemented this?

Peace
Ani

To start you might want to contact Xiaomi to find out if they have an Alexa skill for that. If not then you are out of luck.

Another way is to see if there is an API or SDK or the protocol published somewhere for the camera.
Many IP Cameras use the same web calls to move, take snapshots.....
Once you know the correct web call for the function you wish to send to your camera you can then use HA-Bridge and configure the calls so when you ask Alexa to turn on/off a camera web call She will do it.

I've a Foscam mounted inside which will view all exterior doors on the main level when one of these doors open the camera will turn to that door, I can also tell Alexa to move that camera to a pre-set.
