Title: Is this routine possible?
Post by: Calab on December 23, 2018, 06:35:16 pm
I've tried to create a routine that I can use when I go to bed, but it doesn't appear to be possible. Can I create a routine that starts when I say, "Alexa, good night" that does the following...

- Asks me to set a wake up alarm
- Tells me "Good Night"
- Turns off all the lights in the "living room" group
- Starts my Sleep Sounds skill to play sound for two hours

I know the last 3 is doable. Now the first one, actually is interesting, that is how a real interactive AI should be. But alas, as far as I know, it's not included in routine actions.

You can set up your alarm as recurring though by yourself but not by Alexa.

Good idea though. I am guessing they will add that in the future.

Not just for alarms, I hope.

I don't know what I am doing wrong... I can't find any way to interact with a skill when setting up a routine.

:(

they all look doable, you would set the first one the same way you setup the second one if it is only just a reminder

My bad there is no skill action to add on routine. I did Google and Reddit nerds all say to use Spotify   for sleep sounds instead
