Supposedly within a week ECHO will be able to connect with the Harmony Hub natively (no IFTTT needed). Hooray!

According to Harmony and Amazon (and the Alexa app) the integration is already functional in the U.S. I haven't had a chance to try it yet though.

It is now available.
Only after one has ACTIVITIES defined in the Harmony phone app for your registered devices (tv, dvr, soundbar, blueray, etc.), you go into the Alexa app skills option, search for "HARMONY", select it and link to Echo. If no ACTIVITIES defined, the skill won't remain in Alexa.

I had such high hopes for using my Dot with my Harmony Hub....until I found that it cannot control individual devices programmed under my Harmony, only turn complete activities on or off. How do I get that request in the pipeline?

That's not up to Amazon, place the request with Logitech. I did.
