Title: Adding Son’s Echo Dot.
Post by: Punchrock on October 19, 2020, 11:54:23 am
I am a little unsure to the best way of doing this, my son has bought his own echo dot, he has registered the device with his amazon own prime music account. He needs to control house devices, such as water heating, lights and so on that are on my account. So my question is what is the best way to combine the two accounts, (without me having to listen to his music..... enough said?)

Chris.

there is no reason he can't just add the devices to his echo.   for example, if kasa, install the app, install the skill and link to the kasa account you created.

or create a family account on the alexa.

OK, create a family account it is then.

Thanks for your speedy answer.

Didn’t work as well as expected, creating a family group gives access to digital content as well as payment options. Then every time he issues a command eg. “turn immersion heater on” it gives a confirmatory message as you are accessing another household. There must be a better way than this.
