was reading about the ad google home had today. nobody was happy about it and now google has said it was not an ad. IMO, if something was advertised without me asking for it, it is an ad!

are they now going to be sneaking in ads within news feeds???

Like Yahoo has been doing at My Yahoo page for quite a while now? Fake News to look like real news. Ticks me off, and I need a replacement for the My Yahoo page -- it ain't what it used to be.

When asked for clarification, Google offered the following response: "This isn't an ad; the beauty in the Assistant is that it invites our partners to be our guest and share their tales."
That's a terrible answer from Google.
Nonetheless, I like this clip from the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afzmwAKUppU

those ads ruined the yahoo groups and other services. most of the ones I belonged to or was a moderator on are dead. I never used my yahoo pages.
but back on topic
I am afraid the ads could also appear on amazon as a fake press release in the news briefs. they will have to recover the expenses for all the cloud usage by all the echo owners somehow.
