Title: My Echo is Dead?
Post by: RichardEcho_ on January 19, 2017, 09:33:25 am
I am trying to find a way to figure out if my Echo is dead, dead...

Recently, Alexa stopped playing my audiobooks, playlist, and pandora for example. But, I can ask Alexa for the weather and jokes, just not streaming music, radio station, or books.

I did some researched and tried to reboot the Alexa w/o success. I even rebooted my router and plugged and unbplugged the Echo. Now, when I plug the Echo I no longer get the orange light... nothing.

Any ideas as to the issue? The cord looks fine.

TIA,
Richard

Unplug it for FIVE minutes; which is long enough to clear all data in it.  Power back up and see if it is better.  If no improvement, contact Echo support phone number.

To reset to factory default: Press and hold the Microphone off and Volume down buttons at the same time until the light ring turns orange (about 20 seconds). Wait for the light ring to turn off and on again.

Thanks for the suggestions - I've tried everything and have spoken to support and sadly it is dead!  :( :(

So, they are exchanging it, right?

did you try another wall outlet?  are you using a surge protector or extension cord?   if so, try direct plug in.
