Title: Repeating alarms
Post by: jwlv on March 25, 2016, 03:02:06 pm
Echo now supports repeating alarms.

You can say something like, "Alexa, set a repeating alarm for weekdays at 8."
Or, "Alexa, set an alarm for every Sunday at 10 a.m."

Excellent!  When did this happen?  I didn't see it in any of the recent "What's new" notifications from Amazon.

Amazon didn't announce it in the usual way.

While I was checking out the new Nest integration features, I opened the app, pressed Things to Try, then What's New.  Right there is where I saw that the newest feature is repeating alarms.

Cool.  I use the Echo in my master bedroom as my alarm clock, so this has been at the top of my wish list for a while now.  Thanks for the notification.

Well, I can confirm that this new feature works.  Or at least that it has for the past couple of days.  We'll see if my recurring weekday alarm continues to go off through Friday, skips the weekend and then resumes next Monday.

It doesn't seem like much of a functionality enhancement, but for me it really makes a difference in the practical usability of the product.
