Title: WiFi Connectivity Issue
Post by: pcombs on August 08, 2016, 11:46:59 am
I got my Dot several months ago. I joined it to my wireless network fairly easily but it was a bit fiddly as I don't broadcast my SSID, use a 64-bit WPA2 key, and only allow devices with approved hardware addresses to connect.

A couple of weeks ago it dropped offline and claimed it couldn't connect. After troubleshooting I narrowed the issue down to encryption. With security turned off Alexa will connect. I've verified that I'm using the correct password, and both my Nest thermostat and Protect are connecting fine.

Does anyone know if Amazon pushed an update out that might have had a bug in encryption? Or, has anyone else suddenly developed this issue?

I have the same WiFi security setup as you (no SSID broadcast, WAPA2, MAC filtering) and am on the latest software release on both my Echos and I haven't had any connection problems.
