Hi there.
So, amaxon updated it's Alexa app so you can talk to Alexa directly in the app.
I received this update on my phone. After installing it , I still don't see the Alexa button in the new updated app. :(
I've tried reinstalling the app. Force close it and what not. Nothing works.
Do any of you know this problem. And does anyone know how to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance,
MexterD

MexterD,
Just for my benefit, what phone do you have so we know if it is an Android update or Apple? Also what version is your app?
-
My phone is a Huawei Y7
Currently my app version is version 1.24.3831.0

I downloaded from external source (apkpure) (https://m.apkpure.com/amazon-alexa/com.amazon.dee.app) and it works.

The plot thickens....
After trying all the troubleshoot solutions for the issue. AND downloading the APK/ official Alexa app numerous times, the issue still remains.
Also. Setting up a household profile in the app is impossible since the options simply is not there.

*Edit* after talking to Amazon.uk customer service I finally had an answer: the new Alexa app with Alexa button and other functions is only available in the us.

There's an android app that does that: Listens for Alexa (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.willblaschko.android.alexalistens).
