Has anyone clicked on the frequent banner ad here for "enhancing the Dot"? This is where it takes you: https://ninety7life.com/?gclid=CJz4mu-ukNMCFYVhfgodvywM4A
It can turn your Dot into an Amazon Tap wannabe. At the price of a Dot and a VAUX, you could buy a genuine Tap. I will definitely skip buying this product.
I have a bunch of Dots scattered around the house, as well as an Echo and a couple of Taps. Our Dots are used for giving commands to, only. They hardly ever are used for playing music. I relegate that task to the Echo and Taps; or BT speakers which all sound better than the lowly Dot.
This past week, our "travel" Dot went along with us on a vacation again. This trip, the Tap stayed home to reduce weigh we had to carry on plane, and because we hardly used it last vacation. The Dot did just fine; even when it played background music for a short while.

The Vuax looked interesting at first. But the $49 price tag puts the Echo Tap in more perspective.
Would I rather have the Dot + Vaux or the Tap (and pay a little bit more)?

Yep, that was my point.

I bought one to repurpose an Echo Dot sitting in a desk drawer.
Maybe I'll get some use out of it with more speaker robustness.
We'll see how well it sounds.

I'm glad you are not my money manager. :D
