-
really do not need any accessory unless you want to hang it or decorate it.

I got a Dottie for the Echo Dot in my kitchen

I also have a Dottie. It's fine. I wish it had the 3rd "dummy" post for better stability. I'm going to order this one. I found it while buying 3 mounts for my Google Home Minis (made by the same person). I can't vouch for the quality but if it's as good as the ones I have for my GHs, then it's excellent.

Echo is not battery operated, so needs no "charger". It does nave a power supply that came with and be sure to use that P/S with it.
Many of us have smart plugs that can turn on and off with an Alexa command to control lamps. etc. One brand that we like needs no other accessory for it to work. It is the TP Link Mini smart plug found at Amazon.

finally, i get a battery base for my echo, which can power my echo up to 14hours. i can take my echo with me while i am out in the backyard or for a travel. https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-Intelligent-Battery-Power-hours/dp/B0769H7JKW/ref=sr_1_1?s=amazon-devices&ie=UTF8&qid=1516262226&sr=8-1&keywords=B0769H7JKW (https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-Intelligent-Battery-Power-hours/dp/B0769H7JKW/ref=sr_1_1?s=amazon-devices&ie=UTF8&qid=1516262226&sr=8-1&keywords=B0769H7JKW)

The $45 for a battery could have been used toward the cost of an Amazon portable Tap Alexa device that all one does is grab it and go. Many of us here have Taps. Some even have more than one.

One must keep in mind that the Tap has fewer features than the rest of the Echo family though (no multiroom on top of my head).

I have a Vaux Battery & Speaker https://www.amazon.com/Cordless-Speaker-Portable-Battery-Carbon/dp/B06XH96736/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1516915956&sr=8-3&keywords=vaux%2Bspeaker%2Bfor%2Becho%2Bdot&th=1 (https://www.amazon.com/Cordless-Speaker-Portable-Battery-Carbon/dp/B06XH96736/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1516915956&sr=8-3&keywords=vaux%2Bspeaker%2Bfor%2Becho%2Bdot&th=1) for one of my Dots. I use this in my motorhome, connecting to the Internet with a MiFi from Verizon. The MiFi also connects a FireTV Stick with Alexa and an AppleTV.

The dottie is awesome if you have a outlet in a convenient spot - decent price as well
