Smartlife, SmartThinkgs, Smartdevices, and a garage door - Getting them to work

Hi All - great forum here and many tips.  I installed a new Genie smart garage door and was trying to integrate an indicator light.  However, the Genie smart garage door was not supported in Smartlife, which is the app I have used the most in my automation with Alexa.

I did find a work around and found a way that SmartThings can Link to Smartlife and Alexa.   I made a quick video to show how.  Hope it helps others.
