Drop in on an echo from outside household
« on: July 02, 2021, 04:34:04 am »
Hi Hope you can help.
My brother and I use an Echo show to drop in on our elderly mother. The amazon account is mine and I've added my brother as a contact with permission to drop in on my devices. All works well and he can drop in on the echo show that is in my mum's home.

Problem.
I've now added a second Echo show to my mum's house (and my account) so we can drop in on more than one room. It works well for me and I can see both the 'Lounge' device and the original 'bedroom' device. However, my brother cannot see the new 'lounge' device. He can only see the original 'bedroom' device.

The new lounge device has been enabled for drop in (that's why I can use it). I cannot see any setting under my brothers name in 'contacts' that implies that I have to choose what devices he drops into.

What am I doing wrong?
Can contacts outside your household see individual devices within your home?

Please help.

In the Alexa app
* Tap Devices
* Tap Echo & Alexa
* Tap Lounge
* Tap Communicate
* Tap "person outline" in upper right
* Scroll down to your brother's Contact & Tap it
* Tap Allow drop-in
