Alexa calls between two installation Canada - France

New to this forum,
Because of he recent blindness, my nephew have install an echo at my father apartment in Québec. From what I understand, it is pair with my father Iphone. The later can call his brother who lives in the same city. But when he ask for me, Alexa nicely indicates that because the number is in France she can not dial !

Now, I am thinkink of getting an echo/Alexa in France, and hope to establish an Echo to Echo connection to communicate. Can someone guarante me that it will work, and have use a similar set-up ?

You can definitely make an Echo to Echo call from anywhere to anywhere, as long as there is no phone number involved. If there is a phone number, then it is not an Echo to Echo call. In that case, it becomes a telephone call not all countries are supported.
