Auto Network Switch Option Does Not Exist
« on: May 07, 2016, 12:53:07 am »
Hello,

I'm trying to set up my Echo again after moving to a new house with a new router and ISP. In the past I've had friends do this, but currently don't have anyone nearby to do it, or any other Android devices. I'm working with just a samsung Note II. While following the setup for the echo on my phone, I'm prompted to disable auto network switch. The problem is that this option does not exist for me. I've looked at the top of my network list, as well as in the advanced options. I've also tried toggling all the switches in the advanced network options, as well as forgetting my local network and manually connecting to the echo network. Nothing seems to get the app to recognize that the phone isn't smart network switching, nor does it have the option to. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Google is your friend, when I Googled for "disable auto network switch" I found this:

Instructions for the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S3/S4:

1.From the main Settings page, tap the Connections tab and then tap Wi-Fi.
2.Tap More in the top right corner.
3.Press the Menu button and then tap Advanced.
4.Tap Auto Network Switch or Smart Network switch to disable the feature

Hope this is helpful for you.  I don't have a Galaxy nor any Android phone.
