TuneIn dropped my stream - when will it retry?
« on: May 24, 2020, 07:22:32 am »
Hi guys - firtst time here so please excuse any gaffs.

I manage a small internet radio station (CrowZone Radio) and we were recently forced to change our stream URL. Mostly this worked ok, but TuneIn on Alexa (and Sonos) seems to have dropped us.  She keeps saying "CrowZone radio on TuneIn live is not available right now" which is odd because the stream works fine on TuneIns native webplayer.
Initially I thought I had given TuneIn a "dodgy" URL - but i have tried all the links I have been given, most recently settling on the direct https:// URL.

Occassionally it comes back, but I have no idea what triggers it. I'm wondering if Amazon (ot maybe TuneIn) is detecting a silence and dropping us, and then rechecking after some time. I'd really like to be able to force a reset if possible, or at least predict it!

Any ideas?

does it have its own alexa skill?  I noticed some radio stations have their own skill.  if yours does, maybe need to change the url there too

Thanks for the response...
No, we don't have our own skill (although we are looking into it). I did write my own personal routine that directs TuneIn live to play our station, but that fails the same way so I think the issue is with tuneIn, but I was wondering if anyone knew how the integration between TuneIn and Alexa worked.
