Access PC files...
« on: May 03, 2020, 04:14:14 pm »
Hi all
Just joined this forum after buying an Echo Dot yesterday, which I think is great
Now, I am learning to play bass guitar and have lots of backing tracks stored on my PC and android devices.
The problem with this is having to actually get the device to play the track, which distracts a bit, while having to tap on the device to get them to start.
I was wondering if there is any way to get Alexa to play my backing tracks from my devices (PC/Android) by voice control.
Thanks in advance
Russ

as far as I know the best you can do is by using plex or mymedia.  you have to set up a server on your computer or nas drive and play the tracks from there using voice commands

I believe Cortana will play your music on your PC. Since Alexa can now talk to cortana it should be possible to play your music from your PC . I believe you need the cortana skill.
Then you ask Alexa to tell cortana to play your music (provided you have Cortana enabled on your PC).
