The Google Home Smart Speaker is now on sale for $29.00 (orig $99.99). This is probably the beginning of a price war between Google and Amazon. Amazon just recently lowered prices on several of their Echo products.

Not sure if it is a price war or they are getting ready to release a new model.  after all the speaker is the first generation from about four years ago.  It is a good price for a pretty good speaker
