Echo dot has a solid blue light won't work
« on: October 09, 2017, 01:54:28 pm »
Hello all,
My Echo dot has stopped working. It turns on, lights up with blue flashing lights and then to a solid ring of blue. The orange light never appears. I've unplugged several times, tried to reset by pushing the microphone and audio down buttons, but the solid blue line doesn't go away. I am using the power cord and box that it came with.  Any other suggestions or ideas. Or, should I just box it back up and exchange it with Amazon?

Thank you.

Unplug it for over five minutes, then plug back in and see how it goes.

Go to Alexa settings and make sure that "do not disturb" is not engaged

Possible it's not getting enough power from the USB source.  Unplug it and try a different USB port.  I did the same thing and it came right on like before.

I had the same issue. Checked the cable and my son had switched the power block for an old phone one. Switched back to correct block and all is well.

Yo, I know this is a VERY dead thread, but I just had to give effort towards shining some light on your confusion. So this box actually allows the micro-usb cord, which is plugged into the Alexa device on one end, to safely begin the electrical current in which is passed from inside the electrical outlet. This box is also commonly   known as a block.
