setting up new Alexa at my parents' house
« on: January 26, 2019, 06:54:53 am »
I have an Alexa and an echo Dot at home. I bought an Alexa for my parents who are not remotely techy, nor do they have any Apple products or an Amazon account. What do I need to do to set it up for them please?

Yours gratefully..

you set it up the same way you set yours up.  just need a smartphone and an amazon account.  it is best not to use yours.  you don't need any apple products.

It doesn't cost them to get their own Amazon account. If they don't have a smartphone, they can use their computer. You will need their wifi password to set it up.  The computer website is www.amazon.alexa.com.  If you use their computer after getting an account, you use the website and go to settings and it will have a "set up device" option.
