"A Few Things Share the name <group name> which one did you want?"

Today I added two new TP-Link smart plugs to my home network. Everything worked fine. I added them with Kasa and then created a group in the Alexa web interface. Group appeared in the Alexa app also and all was fine. After about an hour, when I want to turn a group on, or off, I get the prompt in the Subject title.

A little searching is revealing that this seems to be a recent issue. Has anyone found a solution?

I will add that I am based in the UK, but I do not believe this to be a UK specific issue.

I would be grateful for any thoughts/guidance. Thanks in advance.

Im having the exact same issue but for ALL my existing Groups!!! Started a few hour ago.

Just suddenly tonight everything i ask Alexa to do she responds with "A few things share that "name", which one did you want?" Ive isolated it down to Group Names. Individual devices work ok.

However, for example, if i ask her to "turn off dining room lights", which is a group name containing 2 lights, I get the message above. Ive checked groups and there is only 1 group name of Dining Room Lights. I then deleted the group name Dining Room Lights and she is still giving me that same message despite no group name even existing. How is that possible? I put back a new group name of Dining Room Lights, still same.

I put a new Group Name called "blob" added the 2 lights and that works.

Its like this for every Group Name I have.

Asking her to turn on FireTV I get same response!

It just started literally like 3 hours ago.

Anyone else? Or can anyone help?

PS the Group Name buttons from within the Alexa App work. i.e I can turn on "Dining Room Lights" from within the Alexa Apps

Getting the same issue. Was fine this morning, now however I'm getting the "A few things share that name" message. It happens with individual devices as well as group names though.

I'm guessing Amazon have pushed out a bad firmware update?

I've got some Google Homes, so am using those for now.

As of 6PM UK time, this issue now seems to be resolved itself :-).

Yes, just tried and everything is working again. I suspect Amazon have had a few phone calls and corrected whatever the problem was.
