Printing Alexa Shopping List
« on: December 27, 2017, 04:50:59 pm »
My wife is visually impaired and finds it difficult to use the Alexa app on her iPhone while shopping.  So, she would like the list printed.  I understand using a screen shot, but that doesn't solve the problem.  She knows the isle numbers and what items are on which isles.  But a screen shot will not allow her to organize her shopping list by isles.  Any ideas?

I am more vision impaired than your wife, most likely. I cannot see the shopping list well either, and I sure as heck don't drive anymore.

Nevertheless, I am able to see the shopping list on iPhone just fine now, because I recently got a newer Plus size iPhone, and I know how to enlarge the screen display by spreading my thumb and index finger over the screen.  It shows up well for me to easily read it.

Printing the shopping list has been discussed here before, and the take away is it is a lot of hassle.

not really a lot of hassle to print.  just go to the pc and sign on to your echo account, go to the shopping list and click on print at the top of the page.

you can create several shopping list and name each for the aisles.  otherwise I don't know any way to organize by aisles using alexa shopping list unless you use a skill or third party app that is compatible with alexa where you can modify your shopping list.

I don't recall shopping list so easy to print.  Is this rather new?

Anyway, using smartphone is easy if one forgot to print list.  If I can see it on phone, that is saying something!

it has always been easy to print shopping lists, if you access your alexa account from your pc.

Doesn't it print out with a lot of white space and waste paper?

This is a bit of an older thread but it's the only thing I can find so far. For some reason earlier I was talking to Alexa and giving her my shopping list and then she printed it. I don't know how I've tried several command since then to see if I can make it happen but I can't figure it out. Has something changed? If so can someone claim me in because I can't seem to find it anywhere

Look on your history. You must have been using an app that print it out automatically before you use the shopping list.

If you do find it. Share it here you will be the hero of people who feels the need to still print their list in the smartphone age.

I Google it even Amazon themselves still says you can only do it via web not the app.

Personally, I don't see the point of printing it. Never used a list when I'm shopping which makes my husband crazy.

And if I do, I still use my phone using notes.

The shopping list on my phone is perfect for me especially when I can click off what I got so far. I can't do it on notes.

I prefer to wing it when I do groceries. Walk around and find good deals or whatever I see I felt like eating for the week.
