Echo has stopped

Ecko ceased playing  and when pushing the button on top the message is " I am having trouble understanding right now - please try later

The red light on top comes on when Alexa is saying this

Any advice as to how to get it back and up and running would be appreciated as it has been like this for 18 hours now

Have you tried unplugging from mains, leaving for a couple of minutes, then reconnecting to mains again?
