Shortcuts Vs Builtin Commands
« on: July 25, 2017, 03:06:12 pm »
I have my “Family” group setup as follows:

I use a Wink 2 hub, Hue Hub, and Echo Dot.

Group: Family Room

Device            Name

Z-Wave Dimmable Plug-in Dimmer: TV Light
Z-Wave Dimmable Plug-in Dimmer: Couch Light
Hue SmartLight Bulb:       Sconce

Wink Shortcut: “Watch TV” (which turns off Sconce and Couch Light and Dims TV Light)
Wink Shortcut: “Regular” (witch sets all three devices to full brightness)

My Question is:

If I tell Alexa to “Alexa, Turn on Family Room” then it seems to default to Sconce and Couch Light off, and TV light dimmed.

This also happens if I set it to “Regular” (Alexa, turn on regular) first, turn off (Alexa,Turn off Family Room” then (Alexa, Turn on Family Room).

My goal would be to be able to say “Alexa, Turn on Family room and know that all lights will go on full brightness.

Am I missing something?

Is there a better way to do this?

Suggestion, anybody?
