Alexa on Fire TV
« on: October 05, 2015, 01:38:17 pm »
New message on Alexa app Home screen says my Fire TV now can use Alexa, so I clicked on customize, only needed to insert zip code of Fire, but can't seem to figure out Alexa on Fire TV beyond this step.  Anyone know how?

I believe that has to do with the new Fire TV firmware that is Alexa enabled.
It just means that you can use the voice remote to ask questions like you would on the Echo. Previously, you can only use the voice remote to search for TV shows or movies.
My Fire TV stick did not show anything about Alexa, probably because I only have the regular remote and not the voice remote.

I have a gen1 Fire TV Stick, and my Alexa app told me it was available for the Stick.  I could not find anything about it being ready for the older ones although Amazon said it would be soon.  So, it could show up any day now.  I have an Echo remote but it only worked with the Echo today.  Just have to wait and see.
