T-P Link smart switches

Hi, I'm having issues with (2) HS-200 switches. They only occasionally work.... Alexa will respond "TP Link (or the device name) is not responding".

Through the phone, they work whether I'm on wifi or 4g, through the Kasa app.
On the iPad, they work wifi, through the Kasa app.

I've deleted the Kasa app, and reset the switches several times, dumped and reloaded the skill, searched devices, etc... everything I can think of that would matter. Just after doing so, the switches will respond perfectly for about 10 minutes, then go back to being flaky.

I've contacted TP Link a couple times and they believe it's a connectivity issue with Alexa, since everything works through the Kasa app.

I also use (4) Lutron Casetta dimmer switches that never have this issue.

Any ideas?

Perhaps your wi-fi signal is relatively weaker where the TP plugs are.  What band are they on? Things that do not stream video (the plugs and Alexa) work best on the 2.4G signal.  Reserve 5G for devices need faster wi-fi. 2.4G also has longer range than 5G.

try doing a power cycle on your router.  unplug the power for a slow 10 then plug back in.
