My Echo dot is caught in a perpetual boot loop. It boots until it says hello then restarts, Doing this until I unplug it. Any suggestions?

try a different wall outlet or surge protector.   check the power cable and make sure it is tight.  otherwise not much you can do except to reset it to factory or contact support.

The Echo Dot does this when it is not getting enough power. Make sure you are using the black USB power cube that came with your Echo Dot. It should be rated 5V DC @ 1Amp. Anything less will cause the Echo Dot to malfunction and unable to boot up properly. Using an extra long USB cable (or cheap cable) can cause this too. I found this out personally when I tried to use a 15ft USB cable and the Dot couldn't complete its bootup sequence.

If you can't find the Amazon USB power cube any more, an Apple iPhone/iPad power cube can work just as well. A cheap no-name one might work too but more often then not they claim power ratings that are fake.
