Kinda Off Topic...Google Assistant

I've been reading some of the hoopla over the new Google Assistant for Android.  My phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) is one of the first to get it.  I got it and from what I can gather after about 10 minutes, it's Google Now with an Amazon Alexa "twist" on it.  Anyone else?
