Teach echo to find streaming site?
« on: December 24, 2016, 11:50:02 am »
I've asked Alexa to stream Hawaii Public Radio, which has two streams. No recognition of Hawaii Public Radio, and 'HPR' gives me 'Heartland Radio', which ain't the same thing at all.

How do I get to my streaming site?

Try asking Alexa to play the call sign to the station, possibly on Tunein Radio

what is the exact command you were trying to use?   has it worked before?  there is a chance that it will not stream over the echo even though it will stream through other devices.

You really need to get the station designation correct, so go to the HPR website and get the correct info, and try requesting the station stream different ways.

Example: there is a Wyoming Public Radio station with multiple streams, one is called Jazz Wyoming.
If I ask "Alexa play Wyoming Public Radio" that is what I get -- the main station; not jazz.  Instead ,I need to ask, "Alexa, play tunein station Jazz Wyoming" and it plays.

Try adding the frequency number to your command.
