Using Echo Dot to output audio from tablet to wired headphones.

Hi all,
The 3.5mm headphone socket on my tablet doesn't work anymore. Rather than buy a new tablet, I am wondering if it is possible to connect my tablet to the Echo Dot via Bluetooth, and then plug my headphones using the 3.5mm jack into the Dot? Is this possible before I go ahead and buy one?

I bought a bluetooth head phone from Modern Portable and it works great connected to my Echo Dot or Fire tablet. jimjoh

i am looking to use wired headphones. just wondering if the Echo Dot will act as bridge from my tablet to my wired headphones.
