Echo Technical Support / Alexa Tunein Station not available
« Last post by funkyirishman on February 22, 2018, 04:58:05 am »
I listen to radio station CDNX on Alexa and no issues with it. However its changed its name to NME and now its coming up with the message that that its not supported and not available in your country. However I can listen to the station on the stand alone Android TuneIn App?

Any other radio app that I can use on Alexa as radion stations in Ireland Awful :-[ :-[
I've been looking for a way to decrease or increase the volume of the tone that my amazon echo gen 2 makes when you you press buttons like volume up or down.

I find the tone annoyingly loud when pressing the volume buttons, especially when I'm listening quietly to something at my desk.

this may be possible (have not tried it but you can try it)

access alexa via web, go into settings, choose the echo device you want, select sounds and see if any of the options can be toggled to do what you are looking for
Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: Alexa and Plex working together to play music and video

I just want to say that after a few days of living with sending my music to Alexa devices this way, it works real well and is very cool.  I now just ask Plex to play my music on a Dot that's audio out goes directly into stereo, and for the most part skip the Roku and TV step. If I want to SEE a list of what's playing I can always use Roku and TV again any time.

yeah music should be heard not seen  ;D

All this Flex driver crap is all about Amazon cutting back on costs and consequently. their service.  I don't like it either.  Was speaking to our US mail delivery guy recently who gave me the lowdown on Fles when I asked about the USPS contract with Amazon. He said the Amazon packages have really slowed down since they have been using Flex drivers more;  He told me anyone can do it; all they need to do is have a car, (a jalopy will do)  stop off at an Amazon package facility and get some packages to deliver for a couple of hous to pick up some pocket change for making the deliveries.  And we the customers see the results of all this.

The Flex drivers are not "dedicated employees".  They are likely some of the most irresponsible people doing the job, because they can't hold down a decent job.  This situation probably explains why around the holidays a package was at our door that had the wrong address which was miles away from us  The Flex driver probably just dumped a package he was clueless about and foisted off at our door

I could go on, but I won't.  The point is now that we know Amazon is cutting back on good service we let them know about it and always complain to them about how lousy Flex delivery is

then quit ordering from amazon if you are having so much problems.   you are lucky to live in a town with amazon drivers.  as far as the other major delivery services not parking in your drive, they are not allowed to backup unless there is no choice otherwise they would.  as far as illegal in the mailbox, yes it is but at least your package was safe.  as far as two people, so what!!!  no different than paper delivery, they are contract drivers, the child is working with a family member, which is allowed by federal law since it is a family operated business.  besides at christmas there are two in a lot of ups trucks.
Thanks for your replies. First let me state that I'm not looking to Alexa to predict what's in a crystal ball. My point is If I ask what is the weather now and Accuweather says it's currently pouring and Alexa keeps saying it's cloudy there is a disconnect. I've asked for the weather now, a specific time as in the current time etc.. So for some reason for my city it is not working correctly. Accuweather is correct but Alexa is not reading off my city's Accuweather and she does state the correct city when she gives the conditions so I know that is in there correctly.

Also, getting a 'local TV station' does me no good as I live 20 miles from the 'big city' and they only talk about the big city, they don't care about the surrounding towns and it is a totally different ecosystem anyway. Accuweather and Weather Underground at least state the current weather correctly, for some reason that info is not getting to Alexa.

I don't know how to make the issue clearer.

you made it clear the first time.  you are just not paying attention to what is being said.   not even accuweather, the weather channel or any weather service can tell you exactly what is happening at your home at any given time.   it could be raining one block away and not be raining at your house.  same town, so what is alexa to do????   or do you think you are so important in your town that you think the weather forecast should only be what happens at your home.
I ordered an Echo Connect and had nothing but problems with setup. Spent hours on the phone with support and had it replaced twice.  For set up i use an iphone 6S.  When setting up my other devices I realized that I had an easier time setting things up on my iPad. As I was waiting for a callback from the technician I decided to ask someone to register my echo connect directly from Amazon.

Once my echo connect was registered on Amazon I was able to set up the Wi-Fi from my iPad. Now everything works great!

Sometimes you need to think out-of-the-box I guess
JWLV gave you a similar answer, and I quote:
You can ask Alexa for the weather at a specific time. "What's the weather at 2pm" for example.

Why don't you ask him same question as you did me?  Both of us are trying to help keep you dry and finding weather report at another time is one way  Sorry if you don't get it and want to be pissy.  Please no more questions or comments to me in this thread..
MikeOct27 - where in my posts did I mention I'm trying to get the weather an hour from now? I simply want to know what is happening at that point in time - not in the future and not in the past.
Predicting weather only an hour from now IS in the future, and does require a crystal ball.  Stop splitting hairs; we told you how to find more weather info from Alexa.
