You need to enable the Anypod skill. Then you can just say Alexa ask anypod to play the X podcast.

Echo Technical Support / Using Echo Buttons as remote in routines
« Last post by jwlv on December 12, 2018, 05:05:49 pm »
I just picked up a couple of Echo Buttons so that I can use them as a remote to start certain routines. For example, I want to use a button to turn on a group of lights when I leave the house. I already have a routine setup to do this. I have another routine to turn off the group of lights when I come home. While this works fine, I can't figure out how to make the Echo button work as a toggle switch. That is, if the lights are already on, the button should turn it off. Or if the lights are off, then turn it on. Right now the only way I can make it work is to use two Echo buttons. One button for turning off the lights and another button for turning on the lights.

These are the Echo buttons if anyone is interested:

not really much work.  just download and install mymedia, point to the folder your music is in, then play your music using voice commands.   I am guessing plex is similar

I just use the color loop command.  In fact I have been using it since Thanksgiving. My hue lamp  shade is my festive color for my house minus the Christmas lights.

Yes, everything else works, as Raj from "Big Bang" would say, Honky Donkey.

Amazon Echo Discussion / 2 Echo devises and accounts
« Last post by JimH54 on December 12, 2018, 10:07:11 am »
I recently purchased 1 Echo Dot 2 for me and 1 Echo Dot 3 for my ex mother-in-law. I had to create a new Amazon account for her. I set up both using my Windows 10 laptop. I do not have a smartphone or tablet. I am using the browser Alexa App. The problem is that when I set up my ExMIL's device I used my account. Then realizing that she could access my settings (alarms, music, skills...), I set up her account. Now there are two accounts for one Echo Dot. The problem is that when I deregister my account from her device, I also delete it from mine. When I reregister mine, it is also reregistered on hers. I need help in changing the settings so that I cannot access her account and she cannot access mine.

To do that you will need some kind of server that works with Alexa. I'm using 'MyMusic', but there is also "Plex' & some others. Most are pay services.
This is a great article on the subject:
