TP-LINK smart sockets, Kasa and Two Dot - Problem!
« on: January 13, 2018, 03:58:22 am »
Hello,

I have 2 Dots linked to my account, the TP-Link Kasa skill enabled, two TP-Link wi-fi sockets setup as a group.

No matter what I do I can only use one Dot to control the sockets. My first Dot works fine, turning the devices on and off, but the second Dot says "You don't have any Smart Home devices. To get started go to the "Smart Home" section of the Alexa App".

I don't understand what is going on! Why is only one Dot controlling my sockets?

I have reset my second Dot on several occasions, re-installed the skill etc. but nothing seems to make a difference.

Anyone had any experience of this issue please?

Regards,
Paul

Are both dots assigned to the same account? If not, you have to discover devices on each of the dots separately

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, they were both registered to my account. However, your question prompted me to deregister the Dot that wasn't working and re-register it!

And now it's working!!

So thank you very much for that.
