Echo being over ruled by Alexa.
« on: April 25, 2018, 03:43:22 pm »
Hi All.

Wonder if any of you guys could help?... my friend who has an Echo and Dot has just moved in with a family member who also has an Echo.... all are in different rooms and not within ' hearing ' distance of each other and all with a different 'wake' word but sharing the same WiFi and spotify account .  If they have music playing on the Echo or Dot and someone also asks the other Echo for music it will cut off the other two. is there any way to make them all work independent of each other or is this just how it must be ?....

thanks in advance.

Pete

If it's radio it shouldn't be a problem, mine are frequently on different stations at the same time. If it's streaming though, I think that's different - you can only stream from one external source at any one time*. Question though: are the devices all on the same Amazon account or separate ones? I have no idea if that's important but it might be.

*Forum folk - is that the case for streaming from say iTunes?
