There are multiple big ol' threads on this at the ST Community site (for instance: https://community.smartthings.com/t/researchers-say-there-are-serious-security-problems-in-samsung-s-smartthings/46834).  The short version is that it's a concern, but not quite as much as some of the publications are making it out to be.  The bigger worry is the ST service itself going haywire and unlocking your doors when its not supposed to, as actually happened to some folks during the system convulsion that occurred last month.
