Multiple devices and accounts
« on: December 07, 2018, 10:34:17 am »
I have two devices (both Echo) on my own account.
My wife has bought a Dot which we want on her account.
We both use the same WiFi.
However, we do not seem to be able to set them up like this.
Is it possible and, if so, how?
We have seem reference to Amazon Household and think that may have to be the way if we cannot find an answer.

Thanks

Yes you can. You must use the Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet. In the app click on the settings icon (far right bottom) then select the Echo & Alexa icon (top left) then pick the Dot you want to change to her account. Scroll all the way down to (Registered to - YOUR NAME). To the right you'll see 'Deregister'. Click that & register the device on your wife's account.
Warning!
Once on a completely separate account, the Dot might not recognize any other devices set up (like smarthome lights) groups, or routines.

see the following for household account info

if you want your wife to be on a completely separate account, make sure the dot is not registered to your account.  go to your settings and see if it is there.  if so, deregister it.   then your wife can register it to her account.

Thanks both. We have Deregistered from my account but the Dot still cannot find the WiFi or keeps reporting Notification issues.
I think that the easiest way is to use the Household setup!
