New Dot -- has audio-out issue been fixed
« on: October 12, 2018, 08:24:08 am »
I have three Dot Gen2's at home. It annoys me that if I connect the audio out to my stereo receiver, I don't have the option of setting it so Alexa still comes through the Dot's internal speaker. I shouldn't have to have my audio receiver on in order to hear Alexa; the audio receiver should just be music.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed with the Gen3? Can you connect an audio out for music, and set it in the Dot's config so Alexa's voice still comes out of the internal speaker?

(And before anyone chimes in with this, YES: I understand that traditionally, 3.5.mm audio-outs are designed to have a "defeat" built in, so when you plug something into it, it defeats any other paths the audio could potentially take. This doesn't HAVE to be the case, though -- it could be designed differently.)
