SmartThings dropping support for Echo, Cortana, Google Home and I-Home

I was an avid fan of the Samsung SmartThings hub and bought it because of its integration with Amazon Echo. My smart home was humming along smoothly and I just needed to tell Alexa what I wanted done.

Then I had s glitch after an update and ended up having to factory reset my Hub. A pain, but the price you pay for being an early adopter. But then the REAL PROBLEM SmartThings is dropping support for all Voice Assistant other than Samsung's own Bixby.  After finding nothing on the Internet I finally found this buried in the Help->FAQ section of the New App:

"You cannot connect Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Microsoft's Cortana if you try to connect any of them for the first time using SmartThings.

However, if you have connected and have been using Microsoft's Cortana, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home in SmartThings Classic and then updated it to SmartThings, you can use the relevant devices like you used to."

I'm switching to a Wink hub ASAP and abandoning all things Samsung because they did this without input or warning - VERY POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT.  Good bye Samsung.

ease up there.  there is nothing on the SmartThings community buzzing about Alexa not being supported in SmartThings.

There are discussions now and then advising people to not migrate from ST Classic to ST COnnect due to featuresets not being completed.

Here's a thread about the exact differences between the two:

And to note, I have 7 alexa devices and they all work fine with my ST gen2 and latest FW.

Here's another recent purchaser of ST and how to get devices to show in Alexa:
