Amazon DOT connect to Audio System
« on: December 10, 2017, 07:43:04 pm »
Hi All,
I have an Amazon DOT and wish to use a wireless adapter to send send to my stereo system. I can plug the sending unit into the headphone jack on the DOT. Once I do that, I won't want sound coming from the DOT's little internal speaker. Is there a way to have the DOT use it's integral speaker when I don't want to send audio to my main system? In other words, can I tell the DOT "Alexa, play through your internal speaker." and then "Alexa, turn you sound off." or something like that?

Plugging into the 3.5mm output will disconnect the dot speaker. You need to use a Bluetooth adapter to do what you want.
