Is there a way I can play my music from my Synology NAS on my Echo Dot.

I thought it may work via Bluetooth but was not sure if one of the USB Bluetooth adaptors available on Amazon would be suitable

Also I am not sure how you would get them to talk to each other, can anybody help please

The Echo devices do not see other devices on a home network such as a NAS.  Therefore, the way to listen to music stored in a NAS is to play music from a mobile device and then send the output of mobile device via BT to the Dot.

We can even send music from an old iPod to echo devices with a small BT transmitter on the headphone jack of the iPod.
